Bagerhat, Nov 25 (V7N) – Over fifty members of the BNP have officially joined Jamaat-e-Islami during a youth gathering held Monday afternoon at the office market of Bhojpatia Union in Rampal Upazila. The new members were welcomed with floral garlands by Advocate Maulana Sheikh Abdul Wadud, the nominated MP candidate for the Mongla-Rampal parliamentary constituency and chief guest of the event.
The group, led by Bhojpatia Union BNP activist Sagar Hawladar, included him and several family members who switched their allegiance. Sagar Hawladar stated, “I and my family have supported the BNP since its inception, but today, along with my family and over fifty local residents, we have joined Jamaat-e-Islami.”
The youth gathering, presided over by Sheikh Abdul Wahed, President of Bhojpatia Union Jamaat, was also attended by Kohinur Sardar, Naib Amir of Mongla Upazila Jamaat, and Maruf Billah and Sifatulah Sardar of the Youth Division.
In his speech, Advocate Maulana Sheikh Abdul Wadud, a central Shura member of Jamaat-e-Islami and the nominated MP candidate, highlighted the growing popularity and social acceptance of the party. “Because of Jamaat-e-Islami’s principles, ideals, and ethics, many people are joining the party. Over fifty people joined today under Sagar’s leadership. Previously, others had also joined, though it was not publicly announced,” he said. He expressed optimism that Jamaat-e-Islami would achieve sweeping victories in upcoming elections, similar to its successes in DUCSU, RUCSU, and CUCSU elections.
