Dhaka, Nov 26 (V7N) — BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury has raised concerns over what he described as a “festival of looting” in the country’s banking and insurance sectors. He warned that if the current practices continue, the economy could face severe consequences.

Speaking at a program at the Diploma Engineers Institution auditorium in Dhaka on Wednesday (November 26), Amir Khasru said that more than 20 insurance companies are unable to pay claims, leaving families in distress. “People take insurance for the financial security of their families. Due to corruption and looting, they are not receiving their rightful money,” he said.

The BNP leader added that if his party comes to power, such looting in the banking and insurance sectors will be stopped, and major reforms will be introduced. He also emphasized the need for accountability, saying that “everyone must be held responsible to build the Bangladesh of the future.”
