Dhaka, Dec 20, (V7N) — BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed has alleged that the murder of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson and July revolutionary martyr Sharif Osman Hadi was a calculated act by "abettors of dictatorship" and conspirators aiming to delay the upcoming national elections. Speaking to reporters in front of the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan on Saturday afternoon, the senior leader suggested that the killing was part of a broader scheme to destabilize the nation and halt the democratic transition.

Addressing the current political climate, Ahmed asserted that attempts to create anarchy would not succeed in derailing the electoral process. He emphasized that the will of the people for democratic restoration remains unshakable and that no conspiracy would be strong enough to postpone the polls. He warned that those trying to hinder the progress of democracy would face failure as the public remains vigilant against such interference.

The BNP leader also announced that a massive rally, expected to draw hundreds of thousands of supporters, will be organized to coincide with the return of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman to the country. Ahmed stated that this gathering would serve as a definitive platform to send a "strong message" to both domestic and international conspirators. He concluded by reiterating the party's commitment to foiling all plots against the country’s sovereignty and ensuring a peaceful path toward a representative government.
