Dhaka, Dec 30 (V7N)- Sports stars from across the country have expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, casting a pall of mourning over Bangladesh’s sporting community.
From Mirpur to Motijheel, the nation’s sports arena observed the loss with profound grief. Legendary cricketer Tamim Iqbal appeared overwhelmed by emotion, with his condolence message reflecting a deep sense of emptiness. All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan also conveyed his condolences from abroad, paying tribute to her legacy.
Former national football team captain Aminul Haque, who has been part of many historic moments on Bangladesh’s football field, expressed his sorrow, saying that the country has lost a guiding presence whose influence extended beyond politics. He noted that Khaleda Zia’s gentle and inspiring presence will now remain only in memory.
