On Monday marks the end of Bangladesh's prime minister Sheikh Hasina's three-day official visit to Germany, where she was attending the Munich Security Conference 2024.

At 11:00 am, a routine Biman Bangladesh Airlines aircraft carrying the premier and her entourage touched down at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

On February 18, the aircraft took off from München Franz Josef Strauss Airport in Munchen, Germany, at around 9:08 p.m. local time.

After winning the 12th legislative election, the premier made her first official trip to Munich on February 15th, arriving in the evening.

Sheikh Hasina spoke with world leaders outside the Munich Security Conference and attended the conference's opening ceremony when she was in Munich. The prime minister met one-on-one with the following leaders: Ilham Aliyev, the president of Azerbaijan; Mette Frederiksen, the prime minister of Denmark; German Chancellor Olaf Scholz; President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine; and Prime Minister Mark Rutte of the Netherlands.

In her bilateral discussions with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Sheikh Hasina urged an end to warfare, namely the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and the assault on Gaza.

The prime minister was visited by S. Jaishankar, the Indian minister of external affairs, Lord Cameron, the British minister of foreign, Commonwealth, and development affairs, and Svenja Schulze, the federal minister of economic cooperation and development in Germany. 

During the discussion with the Indian Foreign Minister, the Prime Minister emphasized that in order to conduct commerce between Bangladesh and India, the currencies Taka and Rupee must be used.

The prime minister was visited separately by the president of Women Political Leaders (WPL), Silvana Koch-Mehrin, senior managing director of the World Bank's Development Policy and Partnership Axel Van Tortsenburge, director general of the World Health Organization (WHO), Adhanom Ghebreyesus, president of Meta's Global Affairs, and former deputy prime minister of the United Kingdom Sir Nick Clegg.At the Munich Security Conference, PM Hasina also participated in a panel discussion titled "From Pocket to Planet: Scaling Up Climate Finance." There, she made six recommendations and urged world leaders to halt the weapons race in order to redirect funds from the defense budget to the climate fund.

She also attended a reception at the Munich Burgerhaus Garching Hotel hosted by the Bangladeshi diaspora in Germany and other European nations.
