Dhaka, Dec 23 (V7N) — Home Affairs Advisor Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury announced the formation of an investigation commission into the BDR mutiny at Peelkhana. He shared this during a medal presentation ceremony held at the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) headquarters in the capital on Monday, marking BGB Day.

Addressing the media, the advisor emphasised that justice would be served in the mutiny case. He also highlighted the government's stance on the Rohingya crisis, stating, "Rohingyas will not be allowed to enter under any circumstances in the future. However, those who entered earlier during the war were accommodated on humanitarian grounds."

Chowdhury noted that 60,000 Rohingyas had entered Bangladesh over the last one and a half to two years, contradicting claims of a more recent influx.

Regarding the process of bringing back former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the advisor confirmed, "A letter has been sent to the Foreign Ministry to initiate communication with India for her extradition under the existing agreement."

He also assured that actions would be taken against those harassing freedom fighters in Comilla. "We will bring those involved in harassing freedom fighters under the law," he stated firmly.

The advisor's comments underline the government’s multifaceted approach to addressing critical national issues, from border security to justice for freedom fighters.
