Davos, Jan 22 (V7N)— Principal Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus held meetings with Thai Prime Minister Phaython Shinawatra and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum's annual meeting. The discussions, which took place on Tuesday, focused on key bilateral and global issues.

According to the press wing of the Chief Advisor, Dr. Yunus also met with Ambassador Christoph Heusgen, Chairman of the Munich Security Conference. During these engagements, the Nobel Laureate explored opportunities for cooperation and addressed challenges facing the global economy.

In a separate meeting, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz assured Dr. Yunus of Germany's commitment to supporting Bangladesh in its transition to democracy. The Chancellor emphasized his government's dedication to assisting in this critical period for Bangladesh.

Dr. Yunus arrived in Davos on Tuesday evening, having departed from Dhaka the previous night. Upon his arrival, he was welcomed by Bangladesh's Permanent Representative to Switzerland, Tarek Mohammad Ariful Islam.

The Principal Advisor is scheduled to conclude his four-day official visit and return to Dhaka on January 25.
