Dhaka, Jan 25 (V7N)— India's High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Pranay Verma, reaffirmed India's commitment to supporting a democratic and inclusive Bangladesh during a reception celebrating India's 76th Republic Day. The event was held on Saturday evening at a prominent hotel in Dhaka.

Speaking at the event, High Commissioner Verma said, "We have supported a democratic, stable, peaceful, progressive, and inclusive Bangladesh and will continue to do so in the future." He emphasised India's dedication to fostering a stable, positive, and mutually beneficial relationship with Bangladesh, underscoring that the people of both nations remain the central stakeholders in this partnership.

Dr. Wahiduddin Mahmud, Planning and Education Advisor to the Bangladesh Government, also addressed the gathering, highlighting the enduring friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

The reception saw attendance from a wide spectrum of Bangladeshi society, including representatives of the Armed Forces, political leaders, civil society members, business professionals, media figures, and notable personalities from educational, cultural, and religious spheres. The event underscored the strong ties between India and Bangladesh, celebrating shared values and aspirations for regional stability and development.
