Dhaka, Jan 13 (V7N) — Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus has said that the future of the country will be determined through the upcoming national election and referendum scheduled for February.
He made the remarks while speaking at the South Asian Higher Education Regional Conference on Tuesday (January 13) morning.
Addressing the conference, Dr. Yunus criticized the prevailing education system, saying it remains largely job-oriented. He questioned why students are still being prepared mainly to seek employment rather than being encouraged to become entrepreneurs and innovators.
“Our education system is focused on producing job seekers. We must ask ourselves why young people are not moving toward entrepreneurship instead of only looking for jobs,” he said.
The Chief Adviser also noted the growing political engagement of young people, mentioning that several political parties now have strong youth participation. He expressed optimism that many young leaders will succeed in the upcoming elections.
Calling on the younger generation to think beyond conventional boundaries, Dr. Yunus urged them to be dreamers, saying that meaningful change begins with bold ideas and vision.
