Mymensingh, May 23 (V7N)- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to visit Mymensingh today to attend the 127th birth anniversary celebrations of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.
According to his previously announced itinerary, the Prime Minister left Dhaka for Mymensingh at 9 am on Saturday (May 23). He is expected to arrive in Trishal around noon, where he will inaugurate a canal excavation program aimed at restoring the Boilor Kanhar canal.
Later, he will join the main program marking the birth anniversary of the national poet. In the afternoon, BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman is also scheduled to attend a meeting with local party leaders and activists.
Local BNP leaders and activists have expressed enthusiasm surrounding the visit, while law enforcement agencies have strengthened security measures across the area ahead of the Prime Minister’s arrival.
