Srimangal, Jun 17 (V7N) – Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has inaugurated the family card program in Srimangal, Moulvibazar, under the Ministry of Social Welfare, where allowances for the month of June were transferred to beneficiaries via mobile phones.

The program was inaugurated at around 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday at the Victoria High School grounds in Srimangal. During the event, the Prime Minister also handed over financial assistance to several distressed and underprivileged families before officially launching the digital transfer of allowance funds.

According to officials, the monthly allowance for 155 beneficiaries was sent directly to their mobile accounts immediately after the inauguration ceremony.

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister arrived in Sylhet at approximately 10:15 a.m. after departing from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 9:30 a.m. He then continued his journey to Moulvibazar by road.

Following the Srimangal program, Tarique Rahman is scheduled to travel to Dusai Resort in the afternoon for a brief rest. He is later expected to attend a political meeting with local leaders and party activists.

After completing his scheduled engagements, the Prime Minister will return to Dhaka in the evening via Sylhet Osmani International Airport.

Meanwhile, extensive preparations were made across Moulvibazar ahead of the visit, with tightened security arrangements in place at key venues. The visit has also generated enthusiasm among party leaders and supporters, many of whom gathered to participate in the day’s programs.
