DHAKA, Jun 18 (V7N) – Bangladesh and Spain have expressed a shared commitment to deepening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across key economic and development sectors, including trade, investment, renewable energy, and infrastructure.

The discussions took place during a courtesy meeting between Spanish Ambassador to Dhaka Gabriel Maria Cistiaga Ochoa de Chinchetru and Foreign Affairs Adviser to the Prime Minister Humayun Kabir at the Prime Minister’s Tejgaon office on Thursday.

Both sides reviewed opportunities to further strengthen long-standing friendly relations between the two countries, with special emphasis on enhancing collaboration in areas such as agriculture, education, technology, tourism, and skilled human resource development.

The Foreign Affairs Adviser welcomed greater Spanish investment in Bangladesh, highlighting the country’s growing reputation as a stable and attractive destination for foreign investors. He reiterated the government’s commitment to maintaining a supportive and business-friendly environment for international partners.

The Spanish Ambassador praised Bangladesh’s continued economic progress, strategic geographic position, and investment-friendly policies. He expressed Spain’s interest in expanding its presence in sectors such as manufacturing, renewable energy, infrastructure development, and technology.

Both parties also discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation between private sector entities of the two countries, aiming to encourage joint ventures and knowledge exchange.

The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to elevate Bangladesh–Spain relations further and explore new avenues of collaboration that could benefit both economies in the coming years.
