Beijing, Jun 26 (V7N) – Prime Minister Tarique Rahman paid tribute at the Monument to the People's Heroes in Beijing’s historic Tiananmen Square on Friday morning, laying a wreath in honor of China’s revolutionary martyrs.

The ceremony took place at 9:15 am local time, where the Prime Minister placed a wreath at the monument as a mark of respect for the revolutionary heroes of China. Following the tribute, the national anthems of Bangladesh and China were played, accompanied by a bugle call.

After laying the wreath, the Prime Minister stood in solemn silence for a moment, paying homage to those who sacrificed their lives in China’s revolutionary struggle.

Prime Minister Rahman was accompanied by his wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman, along with senior members of the delegation, including the Foreign Affairs Adviser, Information and Broadcasting Adviser, Water Resources Minister, Economic Adviser, and officials from education, expatriate welfare, labour, and press departments.

The visit is seen as part of strengthening diplomatic engagement and bilateral relations between Bangladesh and China, with both sides continuing discussions on cooperation in multiple sectors.
