Dhaka, Jul 5 (V7N) — Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Sunday unveiled a commemorative postage stamp, inaugural envelope and data card marking National Rural Development Day 2026.
The unveiling ceremony was held at the Prime Minister's Office in the Secretariat at 9:30 a.m.
This year's National Rural Development Day will be observed on July 6 under the theme, "Developed Rural, Prosperous Country; Bangladesh First."
To commemorate the occasion, the Bangladesh Postal Department released a commemorative postage stamp worth Tk 10, along with an inaugural envelope and a Tk 5 data card.
Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, State Minister Mir Shahe Alam and Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Md. Shahidul Hasan attended the ceremony.
The Bangladesh Postal Department traditionally issues special commemorative postage stamps, inaugural envelopes and data cards every year to mark National Rural Development Day, observed annually on July 6.
