Manikganj, Jul 07 (V7N) — Prime Minister Tarique Rahman paid a surprise visit to the Bangladesh Army's summer field exercise on Tuesday morning, where he spent time with soldiers, observed combat training and emphasized the importance of professionalism, discipline and operational readiness.

The Prime Minister arrived at the summer training area of 8 BIR under the 9 Infantry Division in Singair Upazila, Manikganj, at around 9:20 a.m. He inspected the exercise area on foot and observed various aspects of the military training.

During the visit, the Prime Minister toured different sections of the field base and received briefings from the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the division and the Commanding Officer (CO) of the unit on the ongoing training activities and operational preparedness.

He also listened to operational briefings from field commanders and observed a raid exercise conducted by participating troops.

The Prime Minister inspected battlefield deployments, tactical maneuvers, weapons handling and other practical training activities. He visited bunkers and exchanged views with officers and soldiers taking part in the exercise on operational tactics and battlefield preparedness.

During the visit, he also met soldiers positioned in concealed locations under tree cover, inquired about their well-being and encouraged them to continue performing their duties with dedication.

In a gesture of solidarity, the Prime Minister shared the field rations prepared for the participating soldiers and later joined them for tea.

Addressing the troops afterward, Tarique Rahman said the people of Bangladesh have deep confidence in the Bangladesh Army. He praised the force's role in safeguarding national security, responding to crises and maintaining law and order.

He stressed the importance of maintaining high standards of professional training, discipline and combat readiness, expressing satisfaction with the army's ongoing training activities and wishing the Bangladesh Army continued success in the future.
