Dhaka, Jul 13 (V7N) — Prime Minister Tarique Rahman left Dhaka by road early Monday morning on his first official visit to Barishal since assuming office.
The Prime Minister departed from his residence in Gulshan shortly after 6:00 a.m. to attend a series of official and organizational programs in the southern district.
According to the day's schedule, the Prime Minister will participate in a tree plantation programme along the newly excavated Sarikal Canal in Batajor Union of Gournadi Upazila. He is also scheduled to take part in separate tree plantation programmes in the Trish Godown slaughterhouse area and the Sagardi area adjacent to Trish Godown in Barishal city.
In the afternoon, the Prime Minister will attend a views-exchange meeting with leaders of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its affiliated organizations at the Barishal Shilpakala Academy.
Earlier, Prime Minister's Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Rumon said the Prime Minister is expected to return to Dhaka in the evening after completing his scheduled engagements.
