Dhaka, Aug. 01 (V7N) – Prime Minister Tarique Rahman held a meeting with the country's leading business leaders on Saturday to discuss the challenges facing the private sector, including the energy crisis, industrial recovery and employment generation.
The meeting was held at the Prime Minister's Office on Saturday (Aug. 1) morning.
During the meeting, the prime minister sought the opinions of business leaders on the existing problems facing the private sector, the ongoing energy situation and the measures needed to strengthen the country's business environment.
He also sought the business community's cooperation on reopening closed factories to create new employment opportunities and boost industrial production.
Business leaders urged the government to provide financial incentives, ensure adequate energy support for industries and simplify the legal and regulatory framework to make doing business easier. They also called for creating a business environment free from unnecessary harassment.
The meeting was attended by several of the country's leading entrepreneurs and industrialists, including the Managing Director of the Jamuna Group.
