Dhaka, Aug 05 (V7N)- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurated the July Uprising Memorial Museum on Wednesday morning, marking a significant addition to the country’s efforts to preserve the memories and events of the July Uprising.
The Prime Minister attended the inauguration ceremony as the chief guest after 9:00 am and unveiled the commemorative plaque of the museum.
Following the inauguration, Tarique Rahman visited different galleries of the museum, where preserved artifacts, photographs, historical documents, and memorials related to the July Uprising have been displayed.
Former Chief Advisor to the Interim Government Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus was present at the event. Prime Minister’s advisors and members of the Cabinet also attended the inauguration ceremony.
On the opening day, the museum will remain reserved for special guests and family members of those who lost their lives during the July Uprising. The museum will be opened to the general public from Thursday, August 6.
Authorities said visitors will be able to collect tickets through an online ticketing system. The entrance fee has been set at Tk 50 for adults and Tk 25 for children.
The museum aims to preserve the memories, struggles, and sacrifices associated with the July Uprising and provide future generations with a place to learn about the historic events.
