Kishoreganj, Aug 16 (V7N)- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is set to visit Kishoreganj for the first time since taking oath, where he will attend several programmes, including the distribution of family cards, tree plantation, fish fry release and the inauguration of the National Fisheries Party-2026.

The Prime Minister will leave for Kishoreganj by road on Sunday (August 16) morning. During the visit, he is scheduled to travel to Kishoreganj Sadar, Katiyadi and Pakundia upazilas.

According to the tour schedule, Tarique Rahman will release and distribute fish fry in the Old Brahmaputra River at Mirzapur Chairmanbari Ghat in Pakundia at around 11:30am. He will then exchange greetings with local residents.

At around 12:30pm, the Prime Minister will visit the Carp Hatchery Complex in Katiyadi. Later, at around 1pm, he will attend the inauguration and award distribution ceremony of the National Fisheries Party-2026 at the Achmita George Institution ground.

After a lunch break, the Prime Minister will attend a programme at the old stadium in Kishoreganj district town at around 4pm, where family cards and various forms of assistance will be distributed.

At the same event, a programme to honour people serving in various religious institutions, including mosque imams, muezzins and khadems, is scheduled to be inaugurated.

Tarique Rahman is also scheduled to inaugurate a development project at the historic Sholakia Eidgah at around 2:30pm and participate in a tree plantation programme organised by Chhatra Dal.

Extensive preparations have been made across Kishoreganj ahead of the Prime Minister's visit. Roads in Sadar, Katiyadi and Pakundia have been renovated and cleaned, while local authorities have taken various measures to ensure a smooth visit.

The visit has generated considerable enthusiasm among BNP leaders and activists as well as members of the public, as it will be Tarique Rahman's first visit to Kishoreganj since assuming office.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to leave Kishoreganj for Dhaka at around 6pm after completing the day's programmes.
