Dhaka, Sep 15 (V7N)- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has met the families of two army personnel who were martyred in a shell explosion during tank firing exercises at the Hathazari Field Firing Range in Chattogram and handed over cheques as financial assistance.
The meeting was held Tuesday morning (September 15) at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon.
Speaking during the meeting, the Prime Minister said the two army personnel sacrificed their lives while performing their duties for the country. He said the nation would remember their sacrifice with deep respect.
“We stand by you during this time of grief and will continue to do so. The government and the army will always remain by your families’ side,” the Prime Minister said.
She added that, alongside providing necessary assistance, the government would fulfill its responsibility to support and look after the families of the martyred soldiers.
As part of the support measures, the army will take initiatives to construct a house for each of the martyrs’ families at their permanent addresses. Arrangements will also be made for employment opportunities for their wives and monthly allowances for their children.
The two soldiers were martyred on September 9 when a shell exploded during tank firing exercises at the Hathazari Field Firing Range.
They were identified as Soldier (Operator) Abu Bakar Siddique and Soldier (Gunner) Md. Tasnim Rifayat.
