Dhaka, Oct 31 (V7N)- KM Enayetul Karim, father of former Air Force Flight Lieutenant Tahsif Sauri, has filed a murder case against unidentified individuals over his son’s death.

He lodged the case at Uttarkhan Police Station in Dhaka on Friday night, October 30.

Tahsif went missing after leaving his home in Uttara on Tuesday evening, October 27. His body was recovered from the Turag River the following afternoon.

According to family members, Tahsif left home after receiving a call from a junior friend named Deep. Deep later told the media that the two had gone to a workshop because Tahsif was experiencing problems with his motorcycle. After having the motorcycle repaired, they reportedly had lunch together before going their separate ways.

However, law enforcement personnel took Deep into custody from Mohammadpur on Thursday night.

On Friday, investigators from the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) took him to the Mazar Basti area beside the Turag River in Tongi. Acting on information provided by him, they recovered Tahsif’s motorcycle, which had no number plate, from the area.

The PBI said Deep claimed during questioning that he and Tahsif had gone to an area near the Turag River on the night of the incident. According to his account, when several people chased them, Tahsif jumped into the river.

However, the claim has not been independently verified, and the circumstances surrounding Tahsif’s death remain under investigation.

The PBI later handed Deep over to the Naval Police on Friday night. The Naval Police had already been investigating the incident, while the PBI had been conducting a parallel shadow investigation.
