On Monday, Sheikh Hasina, the prime minister, issued a dire warning to unlawful hoarders and market manipulators, threatening to hold them accountable.
"We'll have to take immediate action against anyone who hoards any goods out of ill intent through mobile courts and, if necessary, send them to jail," the PM said.
This was stated by President Sheikh Hasina of the Bangladesh Awami League (AL) during her chairing of the AL Central Working Committee meeting at her home in Ganabhaban.
According to her, the unexpected increase in the cost of necessities following the election is highly unusual.

The nation's premier asked citizens to maintain vigilance so that no one could manipulate food prices through hoarding and black marketeering. PM said "Playing games with other people's food has no purpose."
Sheikh Hasina harshly criticized individuals who contest the results of the most recent 12th parliamentary election, stating that the electorate accepted the results.

Furthermore, following the election, the price of rice and a few other items suddenly increased, the PM continued.In the general election on January 7, the people voluntarily used their right to vote, the AL chairman noted, in spite of campaigns that encouraged people not to cast ballots.
She noted that the BNP, having failed to stop the election, now wants to try again in a different way, pointing out that attempts are being made to raise wages in the RMG sector in addition to raising the prices of necessities.
“We’ll not allow them to play ducks and drakes with the fate of the people of Bangladesh,” she said.
According to the PM, the Awami League's formation of the government and the outcome of the election have satisfied and delighted the people.
"May Allah forbid any atypical circumstance from occurring in Bangladesh," she declared, reiterating that they had founded democracy and that it will endure.She continued, "The maintenance of democracy would ensure the socioeconomic development of this nation's citizens."
She stated that while her government will work to advance the nation's development, they will also make plans to appropriately respond to anyone who attempts to impede Bangladesh's progress.The impending nationwide upazila election was discussed during the discussion.
