Sept 22, V7N - Deltaport Limited, a British-Irish company, is set to invest US$36 million to establish a garment manufacturing facility in the BEPZA Economic Zone (BEPZA EZ), Bangladesh. An agreement for this project was signed between Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and Deltaport Limited at the BEPZA Complex in Dhaka. The deal was signed in the presence of BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman.

Deltaport Limited's new factory will produce 20 million pieces of various garments, including protective clothing, workwear, PPE, hospital gowns, masks, bed sheets, and curtains annually. This venture is expected to create employment opportunities for 5,980 Bangladeshi nationals.

Deltaport is a sister concern of Eastport Limited, which has been operating in the Cumilla EPZ since 2013. BEPZA Executive Chairman expressed his gratitude to the company for its investment and urged them to begin construction at the earliest.
