Dhaka, Nov 25 (V7N)- Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, the spokesperson for Bangladesh Sanatan Jagran Mancha, has been arrested at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport while traveling to Chittagong. The arrest was confirmed by Rezaul Mallick, Additional Commissioner of Police of the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

Chinmoy Krishna Das, known to his followers as Chinmoy Prabhu and the principal of Pundarika Dham, was taken into DB custody and will be handed over to the Chittagong Metropolitan Police. He faces charges of insulting the national flag and hurting religious sentiments.

The charges stem from a case filed at Kotwali Police Station in Chittagong on October 30 by Md. Firoz Khan. The case implicates Chinmoy Krishna Das and 19 others.

Chinmoy Krishna Das has led several rallies across Chittagong, Rangpur, and other regions, voicing 8-point demands on behalf of traditional religious communities. These activities have drawn significant attention, both from supporters and authorities.

Law enforcement officials have stated that investigations are ongoing, and Chinmoy Krishna Das remains in custody pending further legal proceedings. The authorities have urged restraint and respect for due process as the case unfolds.
