Dhaka, Feb 19 (V7N) – The capital city of Bangladesh has once again recorded the worst air quality in the world, with an AQI of 241 at 9 AM today, classifying it as ‘very unhealthy’. This level of pollution poses severe health risks to residents, particularly children, the elderly, and those with pre-existing respiratory conditions. Other cities with dangerously high pollution levels include Lahore (211), Delhi (190), and Kathmandu (181).

Dhaka’s air pollution crisis is primarily caused by brick kilns, vehicular emissions, and ongoing construction dust, with weak environmental regulations allowing pollution levels to rise unchecked. The problem worsens during winter, as stagnant air traps pollutants, making breathing conditions hazardous for millions.
