DHAKA, March 26, (V7N) – Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Adviser to the Ministries of Environment, Forests, Climate Change, and Water Resources, has emphasized the need for national consensus to restore public trust and ensure a stable political future for Bangladesh.
Speaking to reporters after paying tribute to the Liberation War martyrs at the National Memorial in Savar on Independence Day, Rizwana stressed that unity in the national interest is essential for progress.
"Efforts are underway to hold a free and fair election to meet the expectations of the people," the adviser said, signaling the government's commitment to electoral transparency.
She acknowledged that the aftermath of the July-August killings remains a major challenge for the nation and pledged to ensure justice, stating:
"We will try to create an environment of trust so that the people get some sense of justice through ensuring this trial."
Rizwana Hasan also reaffirmed the administration’s focus on reform initiatives, stating that all measures would be taken in response to the people's demands.
"In time, all concerned will come together and build the necessary consensus for the progress of the country," she said, urging all stakeholders to put national interest above personal gains despite political and ideological differences.
Her remarks come at a pivotal moment for Bangladesh as the country navigates political transitions, justice efforts, and governance reforms.
