Dhaka, Mar 24 (V7N) – Two judges from the High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Farah Mahbub, have been appointed to the Appellate Division.
The Law Ministry issued a notification on Monday confirming the appointment, stating that the decision was made under Clause (1) of Article 95 of the Constitution, following an order from the President of Bangladesh. Both judges are scheduled to take oath tomorrow.
Judicial Background of the Appointed Judges
Justice AKM Asaduzzaman
Started his career as a lawyer in the district court in 1983. Appointed as an Additional Judge of the High Court Division on August 27, 2003. Became a permanent judge of the High Court in 2005.
Justice Farah Mahbub
Registered as a District Court Advocate in 1992. Promoted as an Additional Judge of the High Court Division on August 8, 2004. Appointed as a permanent Judge of the High Court Division on August 23, 2006.
With these new appointments, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court is expected to further strengthen its judicial capacity.
