Dhaka, Nov 20 (V7N) – Five former ministers and a former upazila chairman have been shown arrested in connection with various criminal cases filed at different police stations in Dhaka.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Imran Ahammed issued the arrest orders, granting separate requests from investigating officers involved in the cases.

Among those arrested, former social welfare minister Dr. Dipu Moni was implicated in the killing of Jubo Dal leader Shamim in a case filed at Paltan Police Station.

Former information minister Hasanul Haque Inu and law minister Anisul Huq were shown arrested in a case related to the murder of Amir Hossain, filed at Uttara West Police Station.

Former shipping minister Shajahan Khan and his son, former Madaripur Sadar Upazila chairman Asibur Rahman Khan, were shown arrested in connection with the killing of Rafikul Islam in Badda. Former law minister Anisul Huq is also implicated in the attempted murder of BNP activist Hasan Mahmud in a case filed at Shahjahanpur Police Station.

Additionally, former state minister for industries Kamal Ahmed Majumder was shown arrested in a case concerning the murder of teenager Mizanur Rahman, filed at Mirpur Model Police Station.

The arrests mark a significant development in these cases as investigations continue.
