Savar, February 12, (V7N) – The police have recovered the body of a worker named Golam Mostafa (40) from a hanging position inside a garment factory in Ashulia.

On Tuesday (February 11), the body was found in the inspection room on the 8th floor of Radiance Fashion Limited, located in the Khajurbagan area of Ashulia.

The deceased, Golam Mostafa, was the son of the late Taiyeb Ali from Arsa village in the Badalgachi upazila of Naogaon district. He lived with his wife and daughter on the third floor of a six-story building in the local Chainuddin area and worked as a Quality Inspector in the finishing department at Radiance Factory.

According to the police and workers, Mostafa worked as a laborer at the Radiance Garment Factory in Ashulia. The exact time of his entry into the factory is unclear. The workers have called for an investigation into the circumstances of his death.

Factory workers shared that Mostafa worked in the finishing department. On Tuesday morning, workers discovered his hanging body inside the factory. As news of the death spread among the workers, some claimed it was a murder and stopped working, locking the main gate and staging a sit-in at the assembly area. The workers suspect that he may have been murdered and then hung to make it look like a suicide. Tension has been building among the workers regarding this incident.

Ashulia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nur Alam Siddique said, "A worker's hanging body was found inside the inspection room on the 8th floor of the factory. When we arrived at the scene, we could not enter due to the agitated workers and the military's presence. To resolve the situation, we have informed the PBI (Police Bureau of Investigation). After the PBI conducts an investigation, we will send the body for autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. Once we receive the autopsy report, we will confirm whether it was a murder or suicide."
