Dhaka, Feb 08 (V7N) – BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has stated that while the party will continue to criticize the actions of the interim government, it will also extend its cooperation to ensure the government's success. “We will criticize the various works of the interim government, but our activities will be cooperative. This is the beauty of a democratic environment. This government cannot be allowed to fail,” Rizvi said during a publication event at the National Press Club on Saturday afternoon.
Rizvi also condemned what he described as interference from the Indian media, accusing it of supporting Sheikh Hasina and undermining Bangladesh's sovereignty. “Indian media is speaking on behalf of Sheikh Hasina. Such activities are not expected from any democratic country. This is a direct interference in the sovereignty of Bangladesh,” he asserted. Rizvi cautioned against imposing partisan narratives on a democratic nation, stressing the importance of maintaining national independence in political discourse.
Highlighting the political volatility in the country, Rizvi warned against the risks of instability. “Counter-revolution is always lurking. So let us not make any mistake. Let no one benefit from anarchy,” he urged, calling for unity and vigilance.
At the same event, Shafiqul Alam, Press Secretary to the Chief Advisor, alleged a global conspiracy aimed at discrediting Nobel Laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus. “A big conspiracy is being hatched in the world to portray Dr. Muhammad Yunus negatively in exchange for huge money,” Alam claimed, adding that the Indian media was complicit in this effort. He further alleged that millions of dollars were being spent in an attempt to falsely link Dr. Yunus to militant activities through widespread propaganda.
These statements come amid rising political tensions and shifting alliances in Bangladesh, as the interim government navigates both internal challenges and external pressures.
