Kurigram Oct 04, V7N - Director General of the Water Development Board, Muhammad Amirul Haque Bhuna, visited the area affected by the breach of the Teesta River in the Kalirhat area of Rajarhat Upazila in Kurigram. During his visit, he interacted with the local residents to discuss the situation. He was accompanied by Chief Engineer Mahbubur Rahman, Supervising Engineer Ahsan Habib, Executive Engineer Rakibul Hasan, Deputy Divisional Engineer Rafsan Jani, and river expert Dr. Tuhin Wadud.

Muhammad Amirul Haque Bhuna stated that a budget appeal has been made before the implementation of the master plan for the Teesta River. Once the floodwaters recede and the necessary budget is allocated, work will commence on the affected areas. He also provided updates on plans for the excavation of the Dharla, Brahmaputra, and other rivers in the second phase of the Development Project Proposal (DPP).
