Jhalakathi, Jan 16 (V7N) - A day-long workshop on social harmony and citizenship was held at Manaswita Women's Degree College in Kanthalia, Jhalakathi, organized by the Upazila Peace Facilitator Group (PFG).
The event was inaugurated by Faruk Hossain Khan, Barisal Region Coordinator of the Peace Ambassador Network and Editor of Sujan, with Fatema Khanam, former Vice Chairman of the Upazila Parishad and founder of Manaswita Women's Degree College, presiding over the session.
Key trainers included Meher Afroz Mita, Regional Coordinator of The Hunger Project (Barisal Region), Munibul Islam, District Facilitator, Md. Zakir Hossain Dulal, Jhalakathi District Coordinator, and Nasima Kamal, District PFG Joint Coordinator.
Distinguished speakers at the event were AKM Kamruzzaman, Principal of Manaswita Women's Degree College; Professor Md. Abdul Halim, President of Upazila Sujan; Md. Kamal Hossain, Chairman of Shauljalia UP Panel; and journalist Md. Shahjamal.
The workshop was attended by 25 participants, including public representatives, political leaders, teachers, marriage registrars, qazis, imams, priests, and local dignitaries, all engaging in discussions aimed at fostering social harmony and active citizenship.
