Teknaf, Jan 18, ( V7N) - A wild elephant, estimated to be 8-10 years old, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the Hnila Bit hills of Teknaf, Cox's Bazar, on Saturday morning (January 18).
Local resident Sona Mia stated that upon receiving news of the elephant's death, forest department officials arrived at the scene to recover the animal.
Teknaf Assistant Forest Conservation Officer Md. Monirul Islam said the elephant was discovered on a mountain ridge and is believed to have fallen from a cliff. However, the exact cause of death will be determined after an autopsy.
This incident has raised concerns among wildlife conservationists, emphasizing the need for further investigation to prevent such occurrences in the future.
