Bagerhat, Jan 30, (V7N) - Abdul Khalek Kazi, a revered freedom fighter, retired BDR member, and former Bangladesh Air Force personnel, has passed away at the age of 84. He died on January 28, Wednesday, at 5:00 AM at his home in Morrelganj, Bagerhat, due to age-related complications (Inna Lillahi... Rajiun).
The late Abdul Khalek Kazi, a resident of Barikhali village in Morrelganj Municipality’s Ward No. 1, was laid to rest with full state honors following his funeral prayer at 2:00 PM on Wednesday at the Kalachand Awlia Shrine in Barikhali.
He leaves behind his wife, four daughters, and numerous relatives and admirers.
The Guard of Honor was presented by Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Badruzzaman. The funeral was attended by various political and social leaders, including Dr. Kazi Moniruzzaman Monir, Senior Joint Convener of the Central Tanti Party, Shah Alam Babul, former Secretary of the Morrelganj Upazila Freedom Fighters Command Council, Md. Jahangir Al Azad, Secretary of the Morrelganj Municipality BNP, former councilor Zakir Hossain Bachchu, Asaduzzaman Milan, Joint Convener of the Morrelganj BNP, student leader Md. Shafiul Azam, and many others.
