Sirajganj, Mar 16 (V7N) - A man named Azahar Ali (52) was killed in a clash between two parties over raising money for the development of an under-construction mosque in Sirajganj. The incident took place in Chhota Saguna village of Dhukuriabera union in Belkuchi upazila before iftar on Saturday (March 15). A total of 10 people from both sides were injured in the incident.

On Sunday (March 16) afternoon, Belkuchi Police Station Officer-in-Charge Zakeria Hossain confirmed the matter and said that construction work is underway for the development of the Central Jama Masjid in Chhota Saguna of the upazila. For this, a tussle started between the Alauddin Group and the Karimul Group of the same village over the issue of extorting money from the local residents. As a result, people from both sides got into a clash just before Iftar on Saturday. At least 10 people from both sides were injured during this time.

He also said that among the injured, Azahar Ali of Alauddin Group was seriously injured. He died while undergoing treatment at Shaheed Ziaur Rahmas Hospital in Bogra this Sunday morning. Besides, the injured from both sides are being treated at different hospitals. Three people have been arrested in the incident.
