Ishwardi, Mar 20 (V7N)– A devastating head-on collision between a passenger bus and a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw in Ishwardi Upazila, Pabna, has resulted in the deaths of four people, including a child.
The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, in the Dhulti Baharpur area of the Ishwardi-Dashuria highway.
In addition to the fatalities, two individuals sustained serious injuries and are reported to be in critical condition.
"Four people, including a child, were killed in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw in Ishwardi Upazila of Pabna," confirmed Ishwardi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahidul Islam.
The passenger bus was traveling towards Ishwardi, while the CNG-powered auto-rickshaw was heading in the opposite direction. The collision occurred when the two vehicles met at the specified location.
"Two more people were seriously injured in the incident. They have been admitted to the hospital in critical condition," OC Shahidul Islam added.
The bus driver and helper fled the scene immediately following the collision. However, the bus has been seized by authorities.
The names and identities of the victims have not yet been released.
