Dhaka, Mar 17 (V7N) – Dhaka District Jubo Dal President Yasin Ferdous Murad has expressed dissatisfaction over the current state of reforms in Bangladesh, stating that bribery and corruption have only increased instead of decreasing. He criticized the lack of visible change and questioned the effectiveness of the promised reforms.

Speaking at an iftar mahfil organized by the Dhamrai Sadar Union BNP and its affiliated organizations on Monday, Murad said, "The people of this country dreamed of state reforms. They expected a reduction in bribery and corruption in government offices and courts. But instead of decreasing, corruption has intensified. So, what reforms have actually been implemented?"

He further alleged that the government has lost control over the country, leading to a deteriorating law and order situation. He claimed that citizens are suffering from increased incidents of theft, robbery, and kidnapping. "If we want to rescue the country from this situation, elections must be held without delay," he emphasized.

Murad reiterated that all necessary reforms are outlined in the 31-point agenda announced by BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman. "If these 31 points are implemented, no further reforms will be needed," he asserted.

Addressing BNP leaders and activists, he reminded them of the party’s core principles. "The party is greater than the individual, and the country is greater than the party. No one who strays from BNP’s ideology has ever been able to sustain their position here. So, act wisely and avoid actions that could damage the party's reputation," he advised.

The event, presided over by former Dhamrai Sadar Union BNP President Abdus Salam and directed by Enayet Hossain, was attended by several local leaders, including MA Jalil, Ebadul Haque Zahid, Monirul Islam, Abul Hossain, Md. Palash, Jasimuddin, and Muhammad Rakib.

On Sunday, a separate iftar mahfil was held by Kushura Union BNP, presided over by Lokman Dewan.
