Savar, Mar 25 (V7N)– The Savar National Memorial is undergoing extensive preparations to honor the nation's martyrs on the 55th Independence Day, March 26. Security has been significantly heightened, and the memorial is being meticulously cleaned and beautified.

"March 26 is the great Independence Day. The Savar National Memorial is being prepared to pay tribute to the brave martyrs, the best sons of the nation. In the meantime, the law enforcement agencies have already created a tight security," a local official confirmed.

The memorial grounds are being thoroughly washed and cleaned, with stairs and structures freshly painted. The lush green courtyard has been adorned with vibrant flowers, creating a respectful and visually striking setting.

"In addition to washing and cleaning the memorial, the stairs and various structures of the memorial premises are being painted with paint. The green courtyard of the memorial has been covered with colorful flowers," a memorial staff member reported.

Preparations are nearing completion, with the installation of colored tiles, CCTV systems, and other electronic setups underway. Foreign visitors have been restricted from entering the premises since Monday, ensuring focused preparations and enhanced security.

"The work of installing colored tiles and CCTV and all electronic settings is underway. The entry of foreign visitors has been banned since last Monday," a security personnel stated.

The Public Works Department has deployed approximately 100 cleaners to polish the entire area, including walkways and the minaret. Trees have been trimmed, and colorful flower arrangements have been added. The memorial has been freshly painted white, and lighting systems have been checked. The entire area will be under 24-hour surveillance through watchtowers and CCTV control.

"The Public Works Department said that about 100 cleaners have cleaned and polished the entire area from the gate of the memorial to the minaret. The walkways from the top of the monument have also been cleaned. The trees planted for beautification have been trimmed and tidied up. Colorful flower tubs have been installed. The lakes have been cleaned and red lotuses have been planted. The entire monument area has been painted white. The lighting work has also been completed. In addition, the entire monument area will be kept under round-the-clock surveillance through watch towers and CCTV control," a maintenance supervisor detailed.

High-profile dignitaries, including the President and Chief Advisor, will visit the memorial to pay their respects. Law enforcement agencies, including the Police, Army, BGB, and RAB, will maintain strict security. Plainclothes detectives will also be present.

"In the early hours of the morning, all the people of the country, including His Excellency the President and His Excellency the Chief Advisor, will come to pay their respects at the National Memorial. All law enforcement agencies including the Police, Army, BGB, RAB will cover the memorial area with strict security. In addition, plainclothes detectives will keep an eye on the area," a security coordinator stated.

Cleaning staff expressed their dedication to ensuring the memorial is ready for the millions of visitors expected on Independence Day.

"Cleaning workers working at the Savar National Memorial said, 'We are cleaning on the occasion of March 26th. Millions of people from different parts of the country will come to the National Memorial to pay their respects and love to the martyrs,'" a worker said.

Savar National Memorial Deputy Assistant Engineer Mizanur Rahman confirmed the comprehensive preparations.

"In this regard, Savar National Memorial Deputy Assistant Engineer Mizanur Rahman said, 'The Savar National Memorial is being prepared to pay tribute to all the people of the country, including His Excellency the President and Honorable Advisors,'" Rahman stated.

Dhaka District Police Superintendent Anisuzzaman emphasized the robust security measures in place.

"In this regard, Dhaka District Police Superintendent Anisuzzaman said, 'All kinds of measures have been taken to maintain law and order around Independence Day. Multiple intelligence agencies in plain clothes are working to maintain security. CCTV cameras have been installed in the entire area,'" Anisuzzaman confirmed.

The Savar National Memorial is poised to serve as a dignified and secure space for the nation to honor its heroes on this significant day.
