Noakhali, Mar 28 (V7N) - On the occasion of Shab-e-Qadr, a special relief distribution event took place on March 26, 2025, in Abirpara, Sonaimuri upazila, Noakhali district. The event was organized under the guidance of BNP’s acting chairman, Tarique Rahman, and aimed to assist the party’s underprivileged workers and local needy families with meat and food supplies. Senior BNP leaders attended the event, seeking blessings and expressing their solidarity with the community.
The event was inaugurated via video conference by Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon, the adviser to BNP's Chairperson. During his address, he emphasized, “Today’s event reflects our commitment to the party’s leaders, workers, and the general public. Our members are always committed to supporting the underprivileged sections of society.” He further stated, “On this sacred night of Shab-e-Qadr, we pray for many blessings from Allah. Our goal is to do something meaningful for the people.”
Sultan Mahmood Apurba, the Vice Chairman of SA Foundation, presided over the event. He spoke about the importance of humanitarian work from the perspective of the afterlife, saying, “Serving people is a noble act, especially when done with an eye on the hereafter.” He also urged the gathering to pray for his late grandfather, Sultan Ahmed, the founder of SA Foundation, who had spent his life serving the underprivileged. He added, “We, following his example, believe in the highest value of human welfare.”
Other notable attendees included Humayun Kabir, the Religious Affairs Secretary of Jubo Dal, Lokman Hossain, Joint Convener of Sonaimuri Upazila BNP, and Mohammad Jahangir Alam, Senior Vice President of Noakhali District Volunteer Party. They praised the initiative, calling it a positive move during such a significant time. “Masud Rana, the Chairman of SA Foundation, has been providing continuous support to the underprivileged workers and local people for several years. It’s not just a political duty but a humanitarian responsibility,” they remarked.
Abid Sultana, the wife of Masud Rana, also addressed the event. She reaffirmed the commitment of SA Foundation to supporting the poor and needy, saying, “Our journey will never stop. We will remain steadfast in our mission of humanity.”
Sultan Mahmood Apurba also highlighted the importance of continuing such humanitarian work. “Our grandfather, Sultan Ahmed, was a great example of compassion. His spirit continues to guide us,” he said. He expressed that the SA Foundation’s ongoing efforts are a source of strength for the community and demonstrate the party’s deep-rooted commitment to social welfare.
At the event, prayers were offered for the health and well-being of Begum Khaleda Zia, the party’s leader. The attendees expressed their hopes for her swift recovery and for providing her with the necessary medical support. They also urged the public to vote for BNP’s candidate, Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon, in the upcoming national elections, encouraging them to support the party’s symbol, the “sheaf of paddy.”
Local leaders also praised the relief effort, saying, “SA Foundation and BNP have always been by the people’s side. This reflects our party’s dedication to humanity.” They emphasized that such initiatives, even if small, bring hope and change to the lives of many.
In conclusion, the SA Foundation’s relief distribution, especially during Shab-e-Qadr, has earned praise from local communities. The leaders expressed their commitment to continuing these humanitarian activities and improving the lives of more people in the future.
