Habiganj, Apr 25 (V7N) - Police in Madhabpur Upazila have apprehended a drug dealer, Nazmul Hossain (26), and seized 40 kg of marijuana. The arrest was made on Thursday night during a raid conducted by ASI Md. Atiqur Rahman of Madhabpur Police Station at Belghar in Jagadishpur Union, acting on confidential information. During the operation, a search of a mini covered van led to the recovery of the substantial quantity of marijuana. The arrested individual, Nazmul Hossain, is the son of Md. Omar Ali from Tebaria village in Sadar, Natore district.

Abdullah Al Mamun, the Officer-in-Charge of Madhabpur Police Station, confirmed the arrest and seizure, stating that Nazmul was intercepted along with the 40 kg of marijuana while searching a mini covered van in Belghar, located on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway. He was subsequently produced before the court today (Friday, April 25th) in connection with a case filed under the Narcotics Control Act.

Habiganj Police Superintendent ANM Sajedur Rahman emphasized the commitment of every police member to making Habiganj drug-free and urged people from all sectors of society to collaborate in this endeavor. He assured that the police's anti-drug campaign would be further intensified.
