Panchagarh, Nov 24 (V7N)- The intensity of winter is increasing rapidly in Panchagarh, the northernmost district of Bangladesh situated at the foothills of the Himalayas. Cold winds and high humidity from dawn to dusk have made the presence of winter felt strongly across the district, especially during the early morning hours over the past few days.
According to the Tentulia Meteorological Observatory, the district recorded a minimum temperature of 13.4°C at 9 am on Monday (November 24), one of the lowest readings this week. The humidity level at that time was 97 percent. A day earlier, on Sunday (November 23), the lowest temperature at the same hour was 12.6°C.
Weather officials reported that the maximum temperature in Tentulia on Sunday evening at 6 pm was 26.7°C, creating a significant difference between day and night temperatures. This variation is intensifying the overall feeling of cold. While light fog appears in the morning and evening, daytime sunshine is present, though the high humidity and cold winds continue to keep the district chilly.
Since early morning, cold winds have been sweeping across different areas of Panchagarh. Locals say the sudden fall in temperature over the past few days has made everyday activities challenging, especially during the morning and night.
Meteorologist Jitendranath Roy from the Tentulia Observatory said the temperature may drop further next week, adding that the cold is expected to intensify in early December.
