COX’S BAZAR, April 22, (V7N) — Police rescued a kidnapped man in Ramu upazila nearly 16 hours after his abduction, bringing relief to his family and concern to the community.
The victim, Rustam Ali (41) of Korlia Mura in Eidghar Union, was abducted around 5 am Wednesday while returning from Eidgah Bazaar. Unknown assailants reportedly intercepted him in the Paner Chhatra Dhala area.
Upon receiving the report, multiple police teams led by Ramu Police Station OC Monirul Islam Bhuiyan, under the direction of the Cox’s Bazar Superintendent of Police, launched extensive raids across hilly areas of Eidgarh and Rashidnagar unions.
Rustam Ali was eventually rescued from the Panirchhara hilly area of Rashidnagar Union at 9:10 pm Wednesday. He was later handed over safely to his family.
Police confirmed that no arrests have been made yet, but operations are ongoing to identify and apprehend those responsible. Legal proceedings are also underway.
The incident has heightened local concerns about security in remote hilly areas, with residents urging stronger patrols and vigilance to prevent further kidnappings.
