Pabna, Oct 05 (V7N) – Sharadiya Durga Puja will be held at 355 temples across Pabna this year, according to a preparatory meeting held to ensure the festival is celebrated peacefully and in a festive atmosphere.
The meeting was held at the conference room of the Pabna Deputy Commissioner’s Office on Sunday morning, with District Commissioner Aminul Islam in the chair.
Speakers said Durga Puja is one of the major religious festivals of the Hindu community. They urged everyone to remain vigilant and play a responsible role to prevent any untoward incident or disorder during the celebrations.
The administration and law enforcement agencies will take necessary measures to ensure security at the puja venues and maintain law and order, the meeting was told.
Leaders of various puja celebration committees were also urged to follow government directives during the festival.
Representatives of temple committees, political and social organisations, district administration officials and members of law enforcement agencies attended the meeting.
