Rangpur, July 3 (V7N)- In the 6th Upazila Parishad Election, 53 newly elected chairmen, vice-chairmen, and female vice-chairmen from 18 Upazilas in the Rangpur Division were sworn in during the second phase. The oath-taking ceremony took place this morning at the Rangpur Shilpakala Academy auditorium.
 
Rangpur Divisional Commissioner Md. Zakir Hossain administered the oath to the newly elected representatives from their respective Upazilas as the chief guest. Present at the event were Abdul Baten, DIG of Police, Rangpur Range; Md. Abu Jafar, Additional Divisional Commissioner; Md. Moniruzzaman, Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner; Md. Ferdous Ali Chowdhury, Superintendent of Police, Rangpur; senior officials from the Rangpur Metropolitan Police; election-related officials, and media personnel.
 
It is noteworthy that the 3rd and 4th phases of the 6th Upazila Parishad Election were held nationwide on May 29 and June 5, respectively, including in 18 Upazilas of the Rangpur Division. In these elections, 53 representatives were elected, including 17 chairmen (with the chairman position in Gangachara Upazila, Rangpur, being postponed), 18 male vice-chairmen, and 18 female vice-chairmen.
