Rajshahi, Oct 17 (V7N) – The unofficial results of the women’s hall elections for the Rajshahi University Central Students’ Union (RUCSU) have been announced, marking the completion of vote counting for the six female halls. Counting for the male halls is currently in progress.
 
In the women’s halls, Mostakur Rahman Zahid, the vice-president candidate from the Chhatro Shibir-backed “United Student Alliance” panel, is leading with 4,067 votes. The assistant general secretary candidate from the same panel, S.M. Salman, is ahead with 2,295 votes.
 
For the general secretary position, Salahuddin Amma, former coordinator and candidate of the “Anti-Domination Unity” panel, is leading in five halls with 3,666 votes.
 
Close competitors include Sheikh Noor Uddin Abir, vice-president candidate of the student league-backed “United New Generation” panel, who received 1,206 votes; Fazle Md. Fahim Reza, general secretary candidate of the Shibir-backed panel, with 2,251 votes; and Jahin Biswas Esha, assistant general secretary candidate from the student league-backed panel, with 1,707 votes.
 
The final women’s hall result, for July 36 Hall, was announced at 2 a.m. on Thursday at the Kazi Nazrul Islam Auditorium. Following this, Professor Setaur Rahman, the Chief Returning Officer, declared the RACSU and Senate election results.
 
The announcement of results began at 10:30 p.m. with Mannujan Hall, followed sequentially by Begum Rokeya, Taposi Rabeya, Begum Khaleda Zia, and Rahmatunnesa Halls.
