Khagrachhari, June 20 (V7N) – Wearing a green cap and a nurse’s apron, Ayesha Akhter Jerin may appear to be a dedicated nursing student — and she is — but there’s more to her than meets the eye. Jerin is quickly becoming a beloved figure on social media for her exceptional talent in voice mimicry, captivating audiences with her vibrant impersonations and boundless energy.

A third-year student at Manikganj Nursing College near Dhaka, Jerin is also emerging as a skilled voice-over artist and mimicry performer. Fluent in Bengali, English, and Hindi, she can flawlessly imitate over 30 cartoon characters, including Shinchan, Doraemon, Meena, Ikri from Sisimpur, and Ninja Hattori. Beyond cartoons, she has also lent her voice to documentaries and news features.

Behind this journey lies a deeply inspiring story — one of struggle, resilience, and unwavering self-belief.

As a child, Jerin faced significant speech clarity issues. Her teachers and classmates often struggled to understand her, prompting concern from school authorities. But instead of backing down, she made a quiet promise to herself: one day, she would use her voice to amaze the very people who once couldn’t understand her. Today, that promise has evolved into an extraordinary gift.

Hailing from Master Para village in Matiranga, Khagrachhari, Jerin completed her SSC and HSC with distinction. It was during the COVID-19 lockdown that her talent began to surface. While watching cartoons at home, she started mimicking character voices — slowly, casually — until mimicry became second nature. She trained herself by watching YouTube and Facebook videos, practicing daily, and refining her vocal techniques.

“In childhood, I loved watching cartoons,” Jerin said. “The characters’ voices fascinated me. One day, I just felt like trying them with my own voice — and gradually, I learned.”

From Shinchan’s mischief to Doraemon’s gentle tone, and Meena’s educational clarity, Jerin brings each character to life with remarkable precision. Her mimicry clips are rapidly gaining popularity across social media platforms.

Once overlooked for her unclear speech, Jerin is now making a name for herself with that very voice — a symbol of transformation. She is more than a mimicry artist; she is an emblem of confidence, talent, and perseverance.

Speaking about her dreams, Jerin shared, “Someday, I want to be recognized nationally or even internationally as a professional voice artist.”

Her story stands as a reminder that belief in oneself can turn even the greatest weaknesses into powerful strengths. In every sense, Ayesha Akhter Jerin is the voice of courage.
