Dhaka, Jan 10 (V7N) — The 25th Dhallywood Film and Music Awards, marking its silver jubilee, was held in a grand ceremony at the China–Bangladesh Friendship International Conference Center on Friday. Organized by Showtime Music and Play and presented by Thikana, the event celebrated 25 years of achievements in Bangladesh’s film and music industry.

The evening opened with a high-energy dance performance, with Mandira Chakraborty inaugurating the ceremony by performing “Ghumaila Ghumailare Bondhu” from the classic film Kajolrekha. The performance set the tone for a night of music, dance, and nostalgia, with an enthusiastic response from the audience of media, fans, and cultural enthusiasts.

Prominent artists and celebrities arrived on the red carpet, including actresses Munira Mithu, Rozina, Tasdik Namira Ahmed, and veteran actors Misha Sawdagar, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Fakhrul Bashar Masum, Dilara Zaman, and Shawkat Ali Emon. Other attendees included choreographer Evan Shahriar Sohag, singers Salma and Yash Rohan, magicians Jewel Aich and Bipasha Aich, and rising stars such as Shaherin Sultana Mim and Melita Mehjabin Arpa, creating a multi-generational gathering of Dhallywood talent.

A highlight of the evening was the Lifetime Achievement Award presented to veteran actress Dilara Zaman, who was visibly emotional while receiving recognition for her long-standing contribution to Bangladeshi cinema.

Awards were distributed across categories in film, music, television drama, and digital media, honoring both critics’ choices and popular votes. Performances throughout the night, along with multimedia presentations, showcased the evolution of Dhallywood over the past 25 years.

The event was broadcast live on NTV and directed by Kazi Mostafa and Jahangir Chowdhury. Golden Age served as the title sponsor, with support from Utsab Group. Organizers noted that the silver jubilee celebration highlighted both legacy and emerging talent, underscoring Dhallywood’s vital role in shaping Bangladeshi culture and entertainment.
