New York, Aug 10 (V7N) – Carole Radziwill, author and former cast member of “The Real Housewives of New York City,” has released never-before-seen photographs from the highly private 1996 wedding of John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette Kennedy. The images were shared exclusively with CNN ahead of the network’s three-part documentary series “American Prince: JFK Jr.”, set to premiere on August 9.
Radziwill, who was a close friend of the couple, captured the images during the intimate ceremony held on Georgia’s secluded Cumberland Island. The wedding, which has long remained a subject of public intrigue, took place in a small, one-room wooden church with only about 30 close friends and family in attendance.
Describing the atmosphere of the ceremony, Radziwill told CNN, “It’s almost like they eloped with 30 of their closest friends. It was very much like that. You didn’t get the sense that anything was overly planned. They just let things happen the way they happened. And there was something so beautiful about that.”
The ceremony, devoid of extravagance or formal media coverage, reflected the couple’s shared desire for simplicity and privacy. The wedding remained largely under the public radar until now, with only minimal details and no official photos having been publicly released until Radziwill’s recent contribution.
The upcoming CNN docuseries aims to offer deeper insights into the life and legacy of John F. Kennedy Jr., exploring his influence on American culture and politics, as well as his personal journey and tragic death in 1999.
Radziwill’s photographs provide a rare and heartfelt glimpse into the personal side of the Kennedy legacy, capturing moments that were never intended for the public eye but now contribute to a broader understanding of one of America’s most iconic couples.
