DHAKA, May 08 (V7N) - The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) initiated drives at three government offices in the capital today in response to allegations of harassment and corruption.
Md Akhtarul Islam, Deputy Director of the ACC's Public Relations Division, stated that the ACC's Enforcement Unit conducted these operations as part of their ongoing campaign against graft.
One of the targeted offices was the National Housing Authority, where the ACC acted on complaints of irregularities and corruption in the allocation of flats.
Another raid was carried out at the Non-Government Teacher Employee Retirement Benefit Board, located within the Bangladesh Bureau of Educational Information and Statistics (BANBEIS). Officials and staff at this board are accused of harassing retired teachers and employees.
The third operation took place at the headquarters of the Agricultural Research Foundation, following allegations that officials of the entity had embezzled public funds by creating fictitious projects.
