KHULNA, FEB 11(V7N) - A total of 18,624 law enforcement personnel have been deployed across all six parliamentary constituencies in Khulna district to ensure a free, fair and peaceful 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum scheduled for tomorrow.
Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer A S M Zamshed Khondaker disclosed the information to journalists today.
According to the Election Commission’s official breakdown, the deployed forces include:
1,250 members of the Bangladesh Army
954 members of the Bangladesh Navy
300 personnel of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB)
355 members of the Coast Guard
98 members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)
2,431 personnel of Metropolitan Police
2,124 members of District Police
11,112 members of Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP)
The returning officer said the extensive deployment aims to maintain law and order, prevent any untoward incidents, and ensure voters can cast their ballots in a safe and secure environment.
Authorities expressed confidence that with the combined efforts of all law enforcement agencies, the election and referendum process in Khulna will be conducted smoothly and peacefully.
